Account and profile
GoodTalk may collect and use information such as your name, username, avatar, linked sign-in providers, and account identifiers to create and maintain your account and profile.
This Privacy Policy describes how GoodTalk collects, uses, stores, and discloses information in connection with the GoodTalk website, iPhone app, and related support and subscription services.
GoodTalk may also process account details, messages, profile settings, optional discovery data, and support communications to operate the service. Certain features rely on third-party services for authentication, real-time messaging, push notifications, subscriptions, storage, and server-side AI processing. GoodTalk is not an advertising-based service.
GoodTalk may collect and use information such as your name, username, avatar, linked sign-in providers, and account identifiers to create and maintain your account and profile.
Messages, drafts, timestamps, visibility state, and related metadata may be processed to deliver chats, show message status, and support features such as refinement approval and conversation history.
If you verify a phone number or enable phone-based discovery, GoodTalk may process that information to support account verification and user discovery, subject to the settings applied by you and other users.
If you grant contacts access, GoodTalk may process contact information to help identify which people in your contacts are already using the service. The service is designed to support privacy-aware matching rather than exposing raw contact lists in the product interface.
When you use Coach or Touch-up, or when you call @aria in chat, GoodTalk uses server-side AI processing to refine messages, generate coaching guidance, and return assistant responses. To provide those features, relevant message content, drafts, and limited conversation context needed for the request may be sent to AI processing providers acting on GoodTalk's behalf.
If you grant location access, GoodTalk may use location context to improve certain Aria responses, such as local or measurement-aware answers. Location access is optional and tied to that feature set.
If you enable notifications, GoodTalk may use push-notification permission status and device token information to deliver message alerts and related notification features.
GoodTalk uses App Store subscription information to manage Premium access, restore purchases, and determine free versus Premium feature availability.
GoodTalk supports sign-in through phone, Apple, and Google, depending on the sign-in method selected by the user.
The app uses cloud infrastructure for authentication, messaging, storage, real-time synchronization, subscriptions, and notification-related functions.
AI-enabled features depend on server-side model providers to process supported requests and return responses for refinement, coaching, and assistant functions.
GoodTalk stores local preferences such as selected defaults and presentation choices so the app can remember user settings and preferred behavior.

GoodTalk is operated by Aphelion Software in Ontario, Canada. Aphelion Software is responsible for personal information under its control and for this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to the GoodTalk website, the GoodTalk iPhone app, and related support and Premium flows that link to this page.
Questions, complaints, access requests, correction requests, deletion requests, and other privacy inquiries can be sent to [email protected].
Depending on how you use GoodTalk, the app may process account identifiers, profile information, message content, draft content, timestamps, presence and visibility settings, phone verification data, discoverability settings, optional contact-matching inputs, optional location context for Aria, notification tokens, subscription status, and support communications.
GoodTalk uses this information to authenticate users, deliver chats, power message refinement and coaching features, return Aria responses, manage subscriptions, protect accounts, support discovery and connection features, respond to support requests, enforce product rules, and improve reliability and safety.
GoodTalk relies on service providers to operate the app. Based on the current app stack, those providers may include Apple for App Store billing, Sign in with Apple, and platform services; Google for Sign in with Google; Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, messaging, storage, notifications, and server-side functions; and OpenAI for AI-assisted processing used by Coach, Touch-up, and Aria.
GoodTalk shares personal information with service providers only where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, or improve the service. GoodTalk requires processors handling personal information on its behalf to provide safeguards, confidentiality protections, and handling standards that are consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
AI-assisted features may produce output that is inaccurate, incomplete, incorrect, or offensive. Output can sound confident even when it is wrong. You should review AI-assisted output before relying on it or sharing it, and you should not treat it as a sole source of factual truth or as a substitute for professional advice, medical advice, legal advice, crisis support, or other expert guidance.
If you do not want content sent for optional assistant processing in Aria, do not call @aria in chat. Coach and Touch-up are AI-assisted features by design when you use those modes. If you want to revoke consent for future AI-assisted processing tied to your account and request deletion of eligible data, you can delete your account in the app or contact [email protected].
GoodTalk keeps information for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain account history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the app. Retention can vary by data type. If you delete your account or request deletion, some information may be removed immediately while certain records may be retained longer where required for security, fraud prevention, billing, or legal compliance.
GoodTalk aims to delete or de-identify personal information when it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to technical limits, backup cycles, legal requirements, and legitimate security or fraud-prevention needs.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, withdrawal of consent where applicable, or additional information about how your personal data is handled. GoodTalk also provides in-app controls for phone discoverability, last-seen visibility, contacts access, location access, notifications, and account deletion.
Privacy requests can be sent to [email protected]. GoodTalk may need to verify identity before completing certain requests. Consent can also be withdrawn by discontinuing optional permissions or deleting your account, though some processing may continue where required to operate the service you still use or to comply with law.
GoodTalk is not intended for children under 13, or under any higher minimum age required by local law. Because the product can involve personal or emotionally sensitive conversations, users should avoid sharing information they would not want processed to operate messaging, support, and AI-assisted features.
Service providers used to operate GoodTalk may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate. Data protection rules can differ across jurisdictions. GoodTalk may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes, and the effective date at the top of this legal section will be updated when material revisions are made.
